About FUE Hairline Restoration With Neograft

The Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) technique is at the forefront of hairline restoration. The NeoGraft system is a game-changing device that supercharges FUE with pneumatic enhancement. The seamless results we see in today’s best hair transplant procedures can usually be attributed to FUE. It wasn’t so long ago when the old “hair plug” operations of the 1980s presented a not-so-flattering view of our industry. A lot has changed since then.

Read our grateful patients’ rave reviews to see a sampling of what Houston Hair Transplant Center can do for you.

Follicular Unit Extraction

FUE produces the best outcomes because the revolutionary technique recreates your hairline one graft at a time. This allows your clinician to artfully arrange your new hair growth in patterns that mimic your old look. It is an exacting process, but the results are worth it.

FUE is safe and minimally invasive.

The old “strip harvesting” technique was a surgical operation. It involved cutting a strip of donor hair from the “safe zone” at the back of your head, scalp and all! The procedure would leave an obvious scar and it involved more risk. Houston Hair Transplant Center works exclusively with FUE. Follicular unit extraction harvests the donor hair one graft at a time. Each graft contains one to three follicles. Scarring is minimal; each extraction only leaves a mark about the size of a pinhole.

The NeoGraft System

NeoGraft is the best thing to happen to your hairline since FUE. The pneumatic device helps make our best results possible. It simplifies the transplant procedure to maximize safety and optimize outcomes

The NeoGraft System

In a practiced, fluid motion, your hairline clinician removes your donor hair with a mechanical snap. The process is repeated until sufficient grafts are gathered. Your harvested follicles are safely stored within NeoGraft until it’s time for your “no-touch” implantation.

As easily as dotting an “I” with a ballpoint pen, your NeoGraft clinician implants the grafts without ever touching them.[1] With the pneumatic tool doing all the hard work, your clinician is free to design your hairline to your personal specifications.

Before and After Photos

Should I Go Bald or Get a Hair Transplant?

Every person’s decision regarding their hair is a deeply personal one. However, it is important to make an informed decision. Many celebrities make the bald look work well. But many more pro athletes, actors and politicians (more than you realize) have undergone a restoration procedure to reverse the inevitable hairline recession of male pattern baldness

Male pattern baldness is, in fact, one of the most common types of hair loss, affecting 80% of European men by age 80.[2]

Fortunately, it is also one of the easiest types of hair loss to treat. Pattern hair loss in men occurs because follicles at the hairline and crown are vulnerable to the dihydrotestosterone (DHT) hormone. But hair at the back and sides of the head are resilient to the effects of DHT. Therefore, the hardy follicles in these areas provide prime candidates for harvest.

Hair transplantation has come a long way with the FUE technique. Restoration’s once dubious reputation is fading, thanks to the natural-looking results made possible by NeoGraft. When making a decision about the future of your hairline, consider the quality of today’s hairline restoration procedures.

How Long Does FUE Hair Transplant Take to Heal?

You can expect a full recovery from a FUE hair transplant in about two weeks or less. You will be able to resume moderate exercise after seven days. The goal is to keep sweat away from the healing grafts to prevent them from being damaged.

How Long Does FUE Hair Transplant Take to Heal?

FUE is a minimally invasive procedure that extracts hair grafts from the donor site individually, one to three follicles at a time. It marks a significant improvement over the old follicular unit transplant (FUT) technique, also known as “strip harvesting.” In a FUT hair transplant, your surgeon removes a strip of scalp tissue from the harvest zone. This is a far more invasive procedure that involves skin excision, stitches and a longer recovery.

With FUE, all that’s left behind is a pinhole-sized scar that’s easily covered by hair growth.

Does the Donor Hair Grow Back?

Your new hair will grow in shortly after your transplant, but not all at once. That’s because all hair growth occurs in phases.

Phases of Hair Growth

  • Anagen phase – Also known as the “growth phase,” almost 90% of the hairs on your head are in the anagen phase at any one time.
  • Catagen phase – This transitional phase allows the hair to renew itself.
  • Telogen phase – The final phase when hair is shed, about 10% of hair is in the telogen phase at any given moment.

Immediately following your hair transplant, much of the hair from the donor grafts will fall out. Don’t fret. This is effluvium or “shock loss” and it is not permanent. The transplant experience has merely “reset the clock” of your follicles to the telogen phase.

In the coming months, your new hair will reengage in the growth cycle to proliferate as it once did. Be patient. Every follicle lives by its own schedule and keeps its own calendar. It will take about a year for your full head of hair to cascade, unimpeded, through its three-act growth phase again. At such time your final results will be on display.

How Much Does Hairline Restoration Cost in Houston, Texas?

Your hairline restoration will cost about $6 to $11 per graft. At Houston Hair Transplant Center, we pride ourselves on two things: the quality of our work and our transparency in pricing

FUE with NeoGraft produces the finest results in the hair restoration industry. We’re dedicated to putting our procedures within reach of the regular working men and women of Texas.

FAQ

Is FUE hair transplant permanent?

Yes, hair transplantation is a long-lasting restoration of your hairline using your own living hair. There are many clever ways to hide or cover your hair loss. But, to address the problem directly, hair transplantation is best. The FUE technique with NeoGraft achieves the most natural-looking and enduring outcomes. Your results are long-lasting because the transplanted hair grafts will not succumb to male pattern baldness again. Hair harvested from the donor zone at the back of the head is resistant to the effects of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), the hormone responsible for hair loss in most men.

Can I touch my hair after transplant?

After about a week of recovery, your hair grafts will begin to “take” to their new blood supply at the transplant site. As the grafts grow stronger, you can certainly touch them. However, you should avoid scratching your scalp until it has made a full recovery. Don’t be alarmed by effluvium. Ellfluvium is a natural phase of the hair transplant process during which many of the grafted hairs fall out from the “shock” of surgery. If you practice patience you will see that over the next three to six months, most of the hair will return. Within a year, your new coif will fill out. You will see that the transplanted hair is every bit as thick and immovable as the hairline you remember. Feel free to run your fingers through it because it’s all yours!
